Housing Partnerships Start With a Clear Next Step

A practical invitation to Washington partners

As a proud Silver sponsor of Housing Washington 2026, Mysti's Adult and Family Services welcomes conversations with organizations working toward housing stability and stronger community connections.

A useful partnership begins with clear questions: Who does each organization serve? What does the program actually provide? How does a referral begin? And what information is needed before anyone shares a client record?

Our goal is to make those first steps easier to understand—not to add another confusing handoff.

Understand the service before making the referral

Mysti's Washington work includes several distinct pathways. They should not be treated as interchangeable.

Foundational Community Supports (FCS) includes supportive housing and supported employment services for eligible adults. Wellpoint administers Washington’s FCS program. FCS pays for support services; it does not itself pay rent. Program fit and enrollment requirements must be checked before services begin.

Community Choice Guide (CCG) provides transition and setup support for eligible people within Washington’s Medicaid long-term services system. Ask the person’s Home and Community Services case manager about referral and authorization requirements. It is a different pathway from FCS and has its own requirements.

Case management and benefits navigation can help people understand and pursue relevant resources. The appropriate next step depends on the person’s circumstances and the requirements of the resource or program.

Our Partners & Referrals page brings these starting points together and links to additional Washington resources.

Training is educational; current program requirements should be checked directly with the relevant Washington agency.

The conversations we welcome

We welcome introductions from housing providers and landlords interested in learning how support services may connect with their work. Hospitals, clinics, and community agencies can contact us to discuss referral pathways. Reentry programs, employers, and other organizations can explore where goals and services may align.

The first conversation does not need to contain a client’s personal history. Start with your organization, your role, the county involved, and the type of collaboration or service you want to discuss. Our team can then identify the appropriate next step and arrange an authorized secure exchange when needed.

Shared learning, practical follow-through

Housing Washington’s 2026 agenda highlights the relationship between housing and health, including Medicaid managed care collaboration and health-related social needs through FCS. These topics reinforce the importance of understanding what each program can do—and what it cannot.

For Mysti's, stronger relationships should lead to clearer communication: a better starting point, a more informed referral, and a shared understanding of who is responsible for the next action. We welcome partners who value that same clarity.
