Every link below was opened and every waitlist status was quoted from its source on September 19, 2026. We re-check the whole page monthly (next refresh: October 2026). Statuses change without notice — confirm directly with the agency before you count on anything.

A straight word about rent help: Mysti's helps some clients with move-in, rent, or utility costs, but only through specific funded programs, only when you meet that program's eligibility, and only while funds last. Nobody — not us, not any agency — can promise it. Work your county's Coordinated Entry, 2-1-1, housing authorities, and the local programs below at the same time as anything you do with us.

  • Coordinated Entry — Blue Mountain Action Council (BMAC), serving the Walla Walla/Columbia region · (509) 529-4980. Contact BMAC for housing/homelessness screening. This is how most homelessness housing programs decide who gets the next opening — get assessed even if the wait is long.

  • Continuum of Care (CoC) — Walla Walla/Columbia County Continuum of Care (part of WA Balance of State CoC network) coordinates the county's homelessness funding and programs; their site lists current providers.

  • Community Action Agency — Blue Mountain Action Council (BMAC) · 509-529-4980 — Affordable housing, adult literacy, food security, energy assistance; serves the Blue Mountain region including Columbia County.

  • DSHS Community Services Office — Walla Walla Community Services Office (serves Columbia County; no separate Dayton CSO found) (Walla Walla, WA (see DSHS office locator)) — apply for cash, food, and medical benefits, or apply online at WashingtonConnection.org.

Walla Walla Housing Authority (WWHA)

  • CLOSED — Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) — "Effective May 1, 2025, our Housing Choice Voucher waitlist was closed." Nonprofit housing you can apply to directly

  • Blue Mountain Action Council (BMAC) Affordable Housing — Low-income individuals and families in the Blue Mountain region, which includes Columbia County. Contact BMAC at 509-529-4980. No Columbia-County-specific BMAC property confirmed during this check; region-wide program.

Senior housing (55+ / 62+) and housing for people with disabilities

WWHA (Walla Walla) is confirmed via its own site as the HCV administrator for Columbia County. Given the very small population, resources here are thin; most services route through Walla Walla-based BMAC/WWHA.
