This is Mysti's working directory of housing and help resources for Walla Walla County, Washington (Walla Walla, College Place, Waitsburg and surrounding areas). Statuses change without notice — confirm directly with the agency before you count on anything.

  • Call 2-1-1 (Washington 2-1-1) · wa211.org — Statewide referral line.

  • Coordinated Entry — Blue Mountain Action Council (BMAC) / Walla Walla County Department of Community Health resource network · (509) 529-4980. Contact BMAC directly for housing/homelessness services and coordinated entry screening. This is how most homelessness housing programs decide who gets the next opening — get assessed even if the wait is long.

  • Continuum of Care (CoC) — Walla Walla County Continuum of Care (part of WA Balance of State CoC network) coordinates the county's homelessness funding and programs; their site lists current providers.

  • Community Action Agency — Blue Mountain Action Council (BMAC) · 509-529-4980 — Affordable housing program (manages several properties), adult literacy, food security, energy assistance, and other anti-poverty programs; also administers SSVF (veteran housing) per WDVA.

  • DSHS Community Services Office — Walla Walla Community Services Office (Walla Walla, WA (see DSHS office locator for current address/hours)) — apply for cash, food, and medical benefits, or apply online at WashingtonConnection.org.

Rent help and eviction prevention (funding-dependent)

These programs open and close as funding arrives and runs out, often within weeks. Call first, ask what is open today, and ask what documents to bring. If you have an eviction notice, contact the legal help below the same day — do not move out just because you received a notice.

WWHA's own rental-assistance page confirms it serves both Walla Walla and Columbia Counties for HCV, so Columbia County residents can use WWHA. Could not verify a formally named 'coordinated entry lead agency' for Walla Walla/Columbia with a title match; BMAC is listed as the county's primary homeless-services nonprofit and is the practical first contact.
